In this post, I'm going to be talking about the plots of the Fox X-Men movies in chronological order.
In the past, during Ancient Egypt, the first mutant Apocalypse, is building pyramids with his powers while his four horsemen watch him. He is revered as a god and gains tons of new abilities by switching souls with the bodies of other mutants to gain their powers. But he is sealed in his tomb during a revolt.
Chronologically, the next movie is called X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which basically gave an origin story for Wolverine before he joined the X-Men. It starts out from when he was a boy. His father was killed by the groundskeeper, whom James kills with his newly manifested powers. At the last second, the groundskeeper reveals that he is his biological father and then dies. James then runs off with the groundskeeper's son, Victor, and they both have healing factors and claws. They live for another century, fighting in many wars, until Victor attacks an innocent woman, and kills a man who stops him. Not knowing what Victor did, James defends him and they are both sent to execution, but they survive due to their healing factors. They are met by William Stryker, who asks them to join a mutant group called Team X, consisting of Agent Zero, Deadpool, Kestrel, Bolt, and Blob. They join the team, and James goes under the fake name of Logan, but seeing how the others don't value human life, he leaves. Six years later, he lives in Canada as a logger with a woman known as Silver Fox.
We now take a pause from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, to tell you about the movie X-Men: First Class, which takes place in 1944. It starts off in a Nazi death camp, where Sebastian Shaw sees Erik Lehnsherr move the metal gates with his powers and kills his mother to make his powers activate more. Meanwhile, in Westchester, a young Charles Xavier comes across a blue scaled girl named Raven (Mystique) and kindly accepts her as his foster sister. 18 years later Erik, or Magneto, is trying to track Sebastian Shaw everywhere and kill him, while Charles graduates with a PHD. In Las Vegas. Moira Mactaggert, a member of the CIA sneaks into the Hellfire Club, where she sees Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost, Azazel, and Riptide, who threaten Army Colonel Hendry to allow nuclear weapons to be deployed in Turkey. Sebastian Shaw later uses his energy absorbing powers to kill Hendry with nuclear energy. Moira then goes to Charles and Raven for help. They go to the CIA and prove the existence of mutants, the CIA sponsors them, they go to a facility called Division X, and they meet a scientist named Hank McCoy, who is a mutant with big feet. They create a machine called Cerebro, which amplifies Charles's psychic powers to recruit Banshee, Havok, Adapt, and Angel (Angel Salvadore). They eventually defeat Emma Frost and learn that Sebastian Shaw plans to start a nuclear war between Russia and America.
The Hellfire attacks Division X, Angel joins them, Adapt dies, they move to Xavier's Mansion to train themselves in a use of their powers, Hank tries to take a cure he made for himself, but it makes him a blue furred beast-creature. They take a jet, make it so that the ship with the missiles is destroyed, Magneto moves Shaw's submarine on the beach, and Shaw wears a helmet that blocks telepathy. Then, Magneto defeats Shaw, takes his helmet, kills Shaw, the ships shoot missiles at them, and Magneto makes the missiles go back at them. Moira tries to stop him by shooting at him, Magneto deflects one of the bullets into Xavier's spine, stopping him from walking, and due to Magneto being distracted, the missiles are dropped in the ocean. Magneto and Mystique part ways with Xavier and teleport off with Angel, Azazel, and Riptide. Xavier now moves in a wheelchair, he thinks about turning his mansion into a school, and wipes Moira's mind of everything mutant-related that she experienced. Magneto and his team, now renamed the Brotherhood, go and recruit Emma Frost from prison.
Back to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Agent Zero and Stryker go to James and tell him that Deadpool and Bolt are both dead. He refuses to join them until he sees Silver Fox's injured body in the woods. He knows that Victor did it and fights him in a bar, loses, and joins Stryker, who gives him adamantium bones and claws to help him get revenge. Stryker tries to brainwash James, but isn't able to since James ran away to a farm where he is taken care of by an old couple. But they are killed by Agent Zero, who is killed by James. He finds Kestrel and Blob, who tell him that Victor still helps Stryker by killing mutants for experiments on a secret island and that the only one who knows about it is Gambit, who they find. They find Victor, who kills Wraith and takes his DNA. Gambit takes James to the island, they find out that Silver Fox is alive, and Stryker sends out Weapon Ⅺ, which is Deadpool, who is still alive. Logan and Victor fight off Deadpool and Silver Fox is injured while saving the captive mutants and getting them to Professor X. Logan kills Deadpool, is shot in the head with adamantium bullets by Stryker, then is saved by Silver Fox, and wakes up with no memory. He sees his dog tag that says Wolverine on one side and Logan on the other. Deadpool is still alive.
Chronologically, the next X-Men movie is about Wolverine and Rogue meeting the X-Men, consisting of Professor X, Cyclops, Storm, and Jean Grey. They come into conflict with Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants, consisting of Toad, Sabretooth, and Mystique. The Brotherhood kidnap Rogue and are planning to force Rogue into absorbing the powers of Magneto, and then use her to power a machine that will turn everyone, including big government officials, into mutants. But, unbeknownst to the Brotherhood, it will kill all the humans, including Rogue. So the X-Men have to go stop Magneto and save Rogue. They do so by defeating the Brotherhood, destroying the machine, and healing Rogue by making her absorb Wolverine's healing factor.
The second move is based on an X-Men story called God Loves, Man Kills. Since the last movie, Mystique has been posing as Senator Kelly, Jean Grey's powers are getting stronger and harder to control and William Stryker has been using a serum to control mutants and make them do his bidding. Nightcrawler tries to attack the President of the USA, and fails. Professor X uses Cerebro to find Nightcrawler, and sends Jean Grey and Storm to go get him, which they do. Meanwhile, Stryker and his men attack the school, and Colossus leads the children to safety. Mystique frees Magneto and learns of a second Cerebro being made. Wolverine, Iceman, Rogue and Pyro eventually meet up with Storm, Jean, and Nightcrawler. While flying back to the mansion, they're attacked by fighter jets, but then are saved by Magneto, who tells them about the second Cerebro and how William Stryker is going to use his mutant son's illusion power to make Xavier use it and kill all mutants psychically. So, the X-Men go to Stryker's dam base, save the mutants, save and stop Charles. Magneto and Mystique go off with Pyro, who willingly joins them. The dam collapses, they're not able to fly away, Jean sacrifices herself to save them while engulfed in flames and then vanishes in the water. They go back to the school, Cyclops is heartbroken, and classes continue, while back at Alcali lake, the image of a Phoenix is seen in the water.
