The Plot of the X-Men Movies: Conclusion

     This post is continued from: The Plot of the X-Men Movies: Part 3.

     The next movie is based on "The Dark Phoenix Saga". Ten years after X-Men: Apocalypse, the X-Men go into space to rescue a damaged shuttle from a strange, solar-flare-moving-energy-thing, which is absorbed by Jean Grey in the process. Hence, her powers are enhanced to a great extent and she has a hard time controlling them, accidentally unleashing them on all the students during the party. Xavier had accidentally unleashing them on all the students at the school during a party. Xavier had apparently locked away the memory of her parents' car crash that she had caused because it caused her great pain. But now, her memory has come back and she is filled with anger and pain. She goes to her father's house and learns that he abandoned her out of fear for her extreme powers. When the X-Men come, she lashes out at them and badly injures and Quicksilver and kills Mystique. Jean goes to Genosha in the hopes that Magneto can help her control her rage, but she leaves after attacking and nearly killing some US military men. Jean then meets a D'Bari alien named Vuk who tells her that she had absorbed a cosmic force that destroyed her home and everything it touched until it was absorbed by Jean. Beast, angry at Mystique's death, allies with Magneto to go kill Jean, but they are stopped by the rest of the   X-Men. Magneto confronts Jean, who easily defeats him. Charles tries to confront her and she comes to her senses. She asks Vuk to take the Phoenix Force from her, not knowing that it would kill her and that Vuk would kill everyone else.

     Cyclops prevents it from happening, but then all of the mutants are kidnapped and given power-suppressing collars, But then, Vuk and her aliens attack and kill all the soldiers. The mutants get free and use their powers to kill all the aliens. But, Vuk comes and one by one, defeats every single one of them. Meanwhile, Xavier telepathically talks to Jean Grey and she forgives him. She then wakes up and uses her powers to save all her friends, then kills all the aliens and when Vuk tries to take the Phoenix Force again. So, Jena takes Vuk into space, fills her with too much energy until Vuk dies and then she explodes into a form of a phoenix. The school is then renamed "The Jean Grey school for Gifted Youngsters", Xavier and Magneto retire, Beast is the new headmaster, the rest of the X-Men are teachers, and when Magneto and Charles are playing chess in France, a phoenix is seen in the sky. It is hinted that Jean Grey might return to earth, since Wolverine saw her in the future at the end of "Days of Future Past".

     The next movie is Logan, which was inspired by "Old Man Logan". It takes place in 2029, where Logan is helping Caliban take care of 90 year old Professor X in northern Mexico. Xavier had been having seizures that sent out telepathic waves that killed and injured people. Logan later finds a girl named Laura, who was made from his DNA, and hence, has similar powers. While they are on the run from Donald Pierce and the Reavers, they learn that a corporation named Transigen had created mutants from children from mutant DNA. They are attacked by Reavers, but then Xavier telepathically incapacitates them. They are helped by a friendly farmer, who is then killed by another clone of Logan, who also kills Xavier. X-24 (the clone) a takes off, they bury Xavier, Logan passes out and they find other mutant children, who are prepared to cross over into Canada, but Logan doesn't join them. The Reavers attack and are killed by Logan and the mutant children. Pierce dies, X-24 impales Logan on a tree branch before being killed by Laura. She tearfully calls Logan her father before he dies. At his grave, she turns his cross into an x, before going off with the children to the Canadian border.

     The next movie is based on "The Demon Bear Saga", which is said to be the definitive New Mutants story arc. It starts off with Dani Moonstar, a young Cheyenne who is running with her father from a mysterious entity. The entity (The Demon Bear) kills her father and she wakes up in a medical facility run by Dr. Cecilia Reyes. Reyes says that she's a mutant and that she needs to control her powers. She is introduced to the other mutants there: Sunspot, Cannonball, Wolfsbane, and Magik. They have all killed people with their manifested abilities. The facility is surrounded by a forcefield. They believe that they are training to be members of the X-Men. Dani becomes best friends with Wolfsbane, while Magik doesn't trust her, Illyana takes comfort in a purple dragon puppet named Lockheed. The other mutants begin to have nightmare-visions of their past, which Magik thinks are because of Dani's psychic powers. Reyes's employers, the Essex Corporation, tell her to kill Dani, which she plans to do, but Dani figures it out with her telepathy. Wolfsbane then injures Reyes and they realize that they have to kill Reyes to get rid of the forcefields on the facility. Reyes reveals the fact they were originally meant to be killers for Essex. But then the Demon Bear comes, killed Reyes, and is determined to kill Dani. Illyana goes into Limbo and summons Lockheed to life. She goes to kill the Demon Bear and the others to go to help her. Dani is awakened by her father's spirit and is able to tame the Demon Bear. They call themselves the New Mutants and finally leave the facility together.
