The Plot of the X-Men Movies: Part 3

     This is continued from The Plot of the X-Men Movies: Part 2.

     The next movie is based on the X-Men story called Days of Future Past. It starts off in the future year of 2023. The X-Men: Iceman, Sunspot, Bishop, Warpath, Blink, and their leader Kitty Pryde, are fighting off Sentinels, until Kitty Pryde sends Bishop's mind back in time to warn the other X-Men so that they survive. The X-Men are making their base in a Chinese temple, and Xavier tells them that Bolivar Trask was the one who made the Sentinels until he was killed by Mystique in 1973, and the government kidnapped and experimented on Mystique's DNA and used it to make the Sentinels able to adapt to fight different mutants. They plan to have Kitty Pryde send Xavier back in time to his past body and stop Mystique from killing Bolivar. But, Wolverine does it instead because his healing factor will allow him to survive. Wolverine wakes up in his body in 1973, and goes to the Xavier Mansion from X-Men First Class, where Beast tells him that the school shut down due to its staff and students being enlisted in the Vietnam War, and that Magneto has been falsely arrested for killing the President. A depressed Xavier is using a serum to make him walk and stop his telepathy, but agrees to help them save Mystique. They go to get Quicksilver's help to break into the Pentagon and free Magneto and then they manage to stop Mystique from killing Bolivar.

     But Magneto tries to kill Mystique, he is stopped by Beast, and the government starts the Sentinel program. Magneto gets his helmet back and puts metal into the Sentinels to later be able to control them. Xavier doesn't use the serum so that he can use Cerebro to try and stop Mystique, but it fails. So, they go to a ceremony where the Sentinels would be revealed. Just when they find Mystique, Magneto appears, controls the Sentinels, surrounds the White House with an entire stadium, impales Wolverine with a rebar and throws him into a river. Secretly, Mystique, Trask, and the President hide in a room in the White House, which is then ripped out by Magneto, who attempts to kill the President. Meanwhile, in the future, the X-Men ae attacked by the Sentinels, Magneto is badly injured, and many of them die. In the past, Mystique reveals herself, saves the President from Magneto, Xavier stops her from killing Trask, Trask is put in prison, and the future X-Men vanish. Wolverine wakes up in the same future, but everything is different. The school is back, mutants have equal rights, and all the X-Men are alive. In the past, Wolverine's body is found in the water and is rescued by Mystique, disguised as William Stryker.

     The next movie is based on the X-Factor portion of the X-Men story called "The Fall of Mutants". This movie starts off with the beginning in my previous post. We then continue the rest of the movie in 1983, some years after the past events of "Days of Future Past". Apocalypse is woken up, believes that humanity has lost its way, meets a young Storm, enhances her powers and plans to destroy and rebuild the earth. In Ohio, Cyclops's eye blasts activate in the bathroom in his school, and his older brother Havok brings him to the Xavier school for help. Mystique saves a young Nightcrawler from an underground cage match and prepares to send him to America with help from Caliban. Apocalypse recruits Caliban's bodyguard Psylocke and turns Angel into Archangel. At the school, Cyclops gets his visor/glasses and develops and attraction to Jean Grey. Apocalypse's great power prompts Beast and Xavier to go to Moira Mactaggert at the CIA, who did research on Apocalypse, who was the first mutant born ever. Meanwhile, Magneto has a family and works in a factory until someone sees him use his powers to save someone else and police come to arrest him, but end up killing his wife and daughter. Magneto kills all the police and goes to kill the factory workers, but is made Apocalypse's fourth horsemen, and his powers are amplified like the others.

     Apocalypse then uses Cerebro through Xavier to force the world's governments to shoot all their nuclear weapons into space so that they can't stop him. Apocalypse goes to the mansion and escapes with Xavier. Havok tries to stop them gets killed, the mansion blows up, Quicksilver, Nightcrawler, Moira, and Beast. They are all rescued by Jean, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, and Weapon X (Wolverine), who runs off. Apocalypse, the Horsemen, and Xavier go to Cairo, where Magneto control's Earth's poles, causing global destruction. Apocalypse builds a pyramid to protect him and Xavier, while Apocalypse's soul switch begins to happen, Nightcrawler teleports a now hairless Xavier away. Magneto and Storm see the error of their ways and instead, help the X-Men in a full out battle against Apocalypse, while Xavier fights him on the astral plane. Xavier tells Jean to unleash the full totality of her powers in the form of the Phoenix, killing Apocalypse. Moira regains her memories, Magneto and Jean rebuild the school with their powers, Quicksilver hides the fact that he's Magneto's son, Magneto goes off to rule Genosha, and with the help of Danger-Room Sentinels, Mystique and Beast train the new X-Men: Storm Nightcrawler, Quicksilver, Cyclops, and Jean Grey.
